Hi I’m Rachel, I am a senior stylist with over twenty years salon experience running my own business (rent a chair at Dorchester Hair studio) for the past six years with a large and successful client base that gives me a diverse and exciting repertoire on a daily basis.

I originally trained at MDS whilst completing an apprenticeship at a local salon in Dorchester gaining my NVQ levels 1,2 & 3 and also achieving levels 1&2 in Beauty therapy. My diverse experience has led me into competition work as well as participating in fashion show hair and the Hair Olympics, I am continually updating my skills and keeping up to date with current trends, completing regular courses with Wella, L’oreal, Goldwell and others, in cutting and colouring techniques and the use of products. I have also completed a Trevor Sorbie master class in hair work as I do a lot of weddings and special occasion hair that enables me to offer a full and professional service for those times where it really counts.

In the salon I regularly cut, perm, colour and restyle on a daily basis so that no aspects of hairdressing phases me and I use a variety of products this enables me to give expert advice with confidence. As I’ve always been passionate about all aspects of hairdressing I have recently begun doing my TAQA training & quality assurance qualification and as a precursor; the ‘train the trainer course’ so that I can pass on my skills and expertise to those learning to be hairdressers today. In so doing I hope to extend my own professional remit whilst at the same time allowing me to pass on my love and excitement for the world of hairdressing.

The best thing about being a hairdresser is bringing a smile to a customers face. I love my job and look forward to seeing you soon.
